Gauchere Spring/Summer '22 Paris Fashionweek

After two years of physical visiting the Gauchere shows, the Spring/Summer '22 collection of designer Marie-Christine Statz was an intimate  presentation, due to the covid restrictions, which we visited in Paris . The collection is inspired by the desire for a reunited community and the respect for nature and one another. This inspiration came back in versatile looks which were composed in neutral, warm earthy tones and pea green. The designer is showing a bit more body then usual, with cut-outs on unpredictable places; like the asymetric cut-out at the abdomen, a one sleeve top and a bit piece of the  back.
The pieces of the collection are woven linnen, slightly oversized jackets combined with just a simple bandeau bralette, oversized satin shirts, some with applications or lace, silk skirts, puffed slides and sandals and sleeveless and collarless blazers, some with a cut-out.
Marie-Christine Statz has created a feminine and parisian chic collection, perfectly for a breezy summer day as well for an evening dinner or special occasion. Statz wanted this collection to express her clients identy and mood when wearing her garment. We think she definetely achieved this and would have loved to see this elegant collection on a runway, it deserves a better look then on a clothing rack.
Our favourite picks are the tops with the asymetric cut-outs at the abdomen, the slight tailored dresses and the two looks with silky skirts and oversized shirts.
Also shout out to the puffed slides, we tried them out and they walked perfect!

"Shirts, jackets and bodysuits come with circular cut-outs. The signature shirting and suiting is made of open weaved summer viscose, tie dye cottons or a cotton tweed. Next to the soft fabrics, by removing collars and buttons of the jackets and showing trousers with colour-block and material mix, the suiting is given a casual feel. Curved button plackets and the mix of fluid and rigid materials enhance the rounded shapes. Backless tops and dresses are constructed out of panels of crushed viscose that create a fluid drape. The trans seasonal approach of the house to create a personal armour which offers protection without constriction is translated into a series of soft, padded knitwear styles. It is made of superfine ecocotton and padded with recycled fibres." Gauchere
