Christian Wijnants Spring/Summer '23 Paris Fashionweek

Christian Wijnants returned to the ruway for his Spring/Summer '23 collection, last february at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, for the first time in over 2 years. Surrounded by a lot of other Dutch and Belgian editors, journalists and friends, we felt at home in Paris.
The Belgian designer offers an ode to summer with this collection and a message to celebrate and embrace life. On the runway we saw white cotton pieces with embroidered details, also coming in long dresses. The other silhouettes were designed in the mindset of Summer's freedom and leisure; cape-jackets, oversized linen pants and blouses, poplin dresses, bermuda shorts and airy ultra thin trenchcoats. The collection palette ranges from pastel green hues, orange red tones, purple to special floral prints including some extra large floral necklaces.
The inspiration behind the make-up comes from waking up from a short nap on the beach, at the end of the day still having some sand on your face. The ultimate summer vibe and feeling, isn't it?
Our absolute toplooks were the baby-blue denim oversized and off the shoulder dress with the big knot. One of the first looks that hit the runway and hitted us. Another favourite was the baby blue-denim bermuda shorts with embroidered top; styled with the platform sandals. We actually loved all the baby-blue denim outfit cause the oversized pants and jacket is already a huge trend everywhere on the streets. We also like to mention the white dungarees with open back (see the two pics). The pants look a bit baggy but you can tell by the layers and stictches on the top it has great tailoring. Special shout-out to the platform sandals which finished the looks edgy and make-up!
