What we thought?
Best two things came together in the beautiful bright surroundings of museum Voorlinden; Fashion and Art .The KASSL Editions installations went seamlessly over in the intuitive artwork collection of museum Voorlinden. Not only by color but also in combination with the modern artinstallations, the beautiful garden and architecture of the museum. The corresponding visions of Voorlinden and KASSL Editions; simplicity, durability and comfort experience, made this exhibition a great match. A causual visitor of the museum wouldn't notice the difference between the KASSL Editions installations and the curated artworks by Voorlinden. Open to the public untill the 22th of September: www.voorlinden.nl
KASSL Editions was founded in 2018, when a collective of fashion-literate friends from around Europe were brought together by an old fisherman’s coat. The coat’s simple cut, together with its extreme technical character and generous shape were the spark for the creative group to create an outerwear brand with a genderless, durable and real coat.
Offering the coat in four different lengths, KASSL Editions seeks to transcend conventional notions of gender by blurring the lines between traditional categories of men’s and women’s outerwear. Conceptualized in Kassel, the German city best known for its Documenta art festival, KASSL Editions plays with artistic notions of hyperreality (a theme found in much German art), with many of its fabrics mimicking the textural intricacies of skin.
