EGONlab.
"We see ourselves as visual artists. Each collections wants to preserve the aesthetics that awork of art must provoke." EGONlab. is a french brand whose visual us deeply inspired by artistic movements and have a greatly influenced our moden society.
The genderless collection is "free of any judgement" designers Florentin Glemarec and Kevin Nompeix say "No matter who you are, you can wear whatever you want". This is essentially the message the brand stands for.
We see a monochronic collection with thigh high combat boots and shoes in black & white, combined with tailored blazers and bermudashorts. Also sweaters, multiple layered tops and light breezy knitwear with strings going everywhere you want them to go.
Blue Marble
Founded by dsigner Anthony Alvarez the brand's name comes from the fist picture ever taken of the earth. The collection is inspired by summer escapes, including psychedelic motifs, tie-dye prints, paisley patterns and sporty silhouettes using silk, linnen and cotton for a comfy wear. Also boxy lines and hoodies to make it look easy yet self confidenced. And hey... there was a male model, showing one of the best looks of the collection.
Kenneth Ize
At Kenneth Ize the focus is on reinterpreting examples of Nigerian craft to create an original perspective on luxury fashion. They support a small community of weavers and they work directly with a number of artisisan and design groups across Nigeria. They aim to design a new aesthetic with a specific local handcraft practice.
For the presentation of his new collection, Ize invited artist Maty Biayenda to paint a large mural around his uni-sex clothes. There were new variations on his signature striped tailoring, rendered in traditional woven fabric, but also in summer-friendly chiffons and light knits.
Germanier
“You can be innovative and sustainable yet glamorous,” said Kevin Germanier during a preview. Kevin Germanier wanted to show off a bit, after Europe's first lockdown and went back to creativity. The body-cons and tops are made from zero-waste fabrics, even the threads as the designer mentioned. It is a bit of fairytale dressing with lots of colors, embroideries of sequins and puffed sleeves. Obviously beautifully made, looking vulnerable but strong and catching the light beautiful. In case of wanting to dress down a bit, there are a pair of jeans with some small sequins and embroideries.
One of the best things of Fashionweek is discovering new brands and new
trends. One of the biggest showrooms for brands to attire is the one of the
official Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. Every Paris
Fashionweek La Fédération hosts a presentation of the most emerging brands
of the moment, who you can meet the designers and their latest
collections. The SPHERE Showroom hosted brands like Craig Green, Koché and
Marine Serre in the past. This is a review of the Spring/Summer '21
participants, both Menswear as Womenswear designers.
-The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s Emerging Brands
Initiative enables those it supports to benefit from a wide range of
services ranging from financial support to provision of expertise. It is accompanied by a set of selected professional partners that the
Federation enables them to best anticipate the different stages of their
growth. It also operates the Paris Fashion Week® Showroom, from the brands
selection to its physical and digital implementation. It also supports
this strategy by implementing specific communication operations throughout
the year.-
