Illuminated by imagery of the American West the Jardin the Acclimation in Paris, next to the Louis Vuitton Foundation, was transformed into Louis Vuitton Virgina. Creative director Pharrell Williams took Louis Vuitton's show and collection closer to his home, as he was born in Virgina, through a scenography embodying the Maison's spirit of travel.
"Evoking the iconography of the American Western wardrobe,
cowboy-inspired silhouettes and workwear details are imbued with the
Maison's heritage signatures. Punctuated by quintessential
adornments and refined materials, iconic bags and accessories exude
nuanced style codes of the frontier." - Louis Vuitton
As it becomes a key accessory for Pharrell as Crative Director at Louis Vuitton, the collection saw the return of the pixelated Damier print, with this Fall/Winter using camouflage for a cow print. Also the Speedy bags are back in a range of cowhide leather. With Louis Vuitton's travel heritage it made sense to see trunks on the runway and for this collection they were put on a wheelbarrow referring to the agricultural foundations of Virginia.
As of the garments the roots of travel and workwear, like the western style tassels, were applied and explored to tailored outerwear and streetwear inspired bomberjackets. The accessories included leather wips worn on the front of trousers, Western style buckles as a closure of shoes and attached to cowboy hats , bolo ties with the LV logo, leather jackets with a bow closure and cow keychains and ofcourse Pharrell's well-known pearly chains on bags, zippers and fringes.

We loved all the handpainted denimjackets and the mini gadgets, like the small guitar keychain, made by the designstudio, the little references to the Maison's heritage, the handcrafted embroideries on different garments showing Virginia's western life, the Louis Vuitton trunks drawings, and the cowprint leather bags. Some will not end up in the ready-to-wear collection in store but definitely worth seeing it in detail, big shout out to all the Studio employees!
As the trackjacket has a major comeback in all Designer collections, the streetwear inspired tracksuit, coming in a bright yellow or black jacket and matching pants, caught our eye as well. Another outstanding look; the light brown suede cowhide leather suit.
