Sulvam Fall/Winter 24/25 Paris Fashionweek

Forget the typical runway strut and glaring spotlight. Sulvam's vision came to life not on a catwalk, but within the intimate space of a venue with just a few rooms. Models engaged in simple yet captivating activities; sipping coffee, playing chess, dancing, and interacting with a vinyl player, erasing the boundaries between the audience and the performance. This wasn't a traditional presentation; it was a conversation spoken through fabric and laughter, a dynamic reflection of Sulvam's philosophy: "Clothing is for wearing, for living in. I wanted to create something that mirrors everyday life," infused with playful spontaneity.
We were completely engaged in the vibe of the presentation, feeling truly connected to the experience, with the models and designer so approachable. Since discovering the brand, we've come to admire its seamless fusion of contemporary tailoring with streetwear elements, all while maintaining an effortlessly chic, everyday appeal. More dancing please at Paris Fashionweek!

About the collection now.....:)
The collection features fabrics from Japan's prestigious Bishu region, known for its exceptional wool manufacturing, including herringbone, tweed, and melton, all specially crafted for Sulvam. For the first time, Sulvam has blended gabardine with lace in a collection. Lace, traditionally viewed as feminine and sensual, adds a unique twist when incorporated into menswear, making this fusion particularly intriguing.
The collection showcases a refined approach to deconstruction, blending meticulous design elements to create a striking and harmonious aesthetic. Teppei, the designer of Sulvam, originally a pattern cutter who spent seven years honing his craft at Yohji Yamamoto before founding his own brand in 2013, draws on his expertise in garment construction to create precisely tailored styles. These designs are then thoughtfully deconstructed through frayed edges, asymmetric hems, oversized pockets, and intentionally imperfect seams, adding a distinctive sense of artistry to the garments.

Collection notes:
Sulvam aims to create and exist in a realm in which people are not aware of the concepts of “fashion” or “dressing up”, but in which clothes are a seamless extension of people’s everyday lives. In this realm, there is no “avant garde” or “luxury” that is aspired towards; people are expressing what they naturally obtain. The Sulvam Fall/Winter '24 collection mainly features fabrics produced in Japan’s renowned wool manufacturing region, Bishu: herringbone, tweed, and melton specially made for Sulvam. Rather than novel and trendy fabrics, Sulvam prefers classic fabrics that never go out of fashion. Using this foundation as a canvas, Sulvam expresses its unique identity and attention to detail.  Key notes for the collection include:
Burgundy; A rich, deep color that adds sophistication and warmth to the collection.
Fading Houndstooth; A take on the traditional houndstooth pattern, where the design appears to fade or dissolve.
Lace (Tailoring Details); Lace is used not in the traditional sense of delicate fabric but as a detail in tailoring. This use of lace adds a unique texture and depth to the pieces, blending traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
