On the final day of Paris Fashion Week,
Ujoh
transformed the
Palais de Tokyo
into a sanctuary of avant-garde breathability. The Japanese label
delivered a Spring/Summer '26 collection that served as both a technical
craftmanship and a visual breath of fresh air. The scene was set by a
minimalist white stage marked with bold, Mediterranean-blue
streaks. The show opened with a clear message: a fringed skirt made
of fishnet and braided cord. This was paired with a crisp, oversized shirt
and a comfortable, loose blazer. To keep things looking real, the models
had a sweaty glow on their skin, making them look like they were walking
through a hot summer day.
Ujoh designers Mitsuru and Aco love to play with shapes that look 'off' in
a cool way. Their collection was full of creative designs: jackets with
side slits, diagonal tops, and uneven hemlines. The most impressive piece
was a mix between pants and a skirt, it has a pant leg on one side and a
flowing skirt on the other. The best part of an Ujoh show is always the 'reveal'. When you look at their clothes, the front is only half the story. The
back usually holds a surprise, for example, a stiff, striped blazer
might turn around to show a soft, flowing wave of fabric. It is a mix of
being both organized and playful at the same time.
Inspired by the extreme heat of summer in Japan, Ujoh's Spring/Summer '26
collection is designed to help you stay cool. It is a summer uniform made
with smart designs that look beautiful but also work well in the sun. The
colors are calm and simple, using mostly black, white, and beige, along
with cool shades of blue and gray. The fabrics chosen for this collection,
were specifically to let air in and keep the wearer cool, while still
keeping the brand's sharp look. By mixing linen and rayon, the clothes
flow smoothly like water instead of getting stiff or wrinkled in the heat.
Items like mesh and open knits work like built-in fans to help manage the
temperature. The clothes are designed to give you plenty of room to
breathe. Long shirt-dresses are worn open over pants, floating around the
body. This feeling of movement is even stronger because of all the
fringes, tops have loose threads that move as you walk. Even though the
fabrics are thin and the edges are loose, everything looks very
high-quality.
A highlight of the show was the second collaboration with Reebok. The
collection used colors inspired by vintage old-school sneakers, like
faded blues and browns. The collection featured sneakers and track
jackets which were combined with sharp, sporty designs. It is a
smooth mix of sports
history and modern design that looks back at the past while creating new
shapes. By blending sneaker culture with smart tailoring, the designers
delivered a summer uniform that looks great, feels effortless, and beats
the heat.
Ultimately, Ujoh has created a breezy, energetic wardrobe for a warming
world, proving you never have to choose between looking sharp and
staying cool. It is the perfect style for busy people who move fast but
still want to look polished.
