Laura Andraschko is quickly becoming one of London's most exciting new
designers, as she is rewriting the rules of femininity while pushing against
social expectations and challenging traditional ideas of womanhood. The Austrian-born designer made her Paris Fashion
Week debut with her Fall/Winter '25 Après Ski" collection; a fun, playful tribute to the glamour of the slopes.
The setting, Chalet Connetable with its wooden walls, hunting trophy's
and hay spread out all over the floor, added fun at the collection
theme.
At the core of Laura Andraschko’s work is a cheeky, ironic take on the idea
of the 'girl from a good family'. Born in Austria to successful
restaurateurs, the designer grew up in Berlin's wild party scene, a mix of
polish and rebellion that shows up in the designers collections. Her
inspiration is basically herself: the well-mannered girl who would rather be
at a rave than a quiet brunch. Shaped by time in New York and Antwerp, the
designer is now based in London and named as an upcoming emerging designer.
Her mix of elegance and edge defines her style and Andraschko can already
count Miu Miu stylist and tastemaker Lotta Volkova as a fan.
The fall/Winter '25 brings back the feel of the late 00s and early 2010s.
Anyone who spent time on Pinterest, Tumblr, or blogs back then will
recognize the rebellious, party-girl energy of different characters. It's a
nostalgic reminder of being carefree, and with her creative vision,
Andraschko rejects polished influencer looks we see on Tiktok and Instagram
constantly. Instead she is celebrating the bold, unfiltered and untamed
spirit of youth.
The show opened with a tweed Austrian jacket dress and a fur bubble
skirt, adding to the over-the-top après ski vibe, and one of the strongest
looks from the collection.
Models walked the runway in Alpine-inspired Heidi braids and sleek ski
goggles, giving the collection an offbeat edge. From tanks to chalet-style tailoring, Andraschko mixed fabrics and soft
vintage colors with unexpected details, like reimagined lederhosen and Loden
jackets. The result was kitchy nostalgia with a rebellious twist and a signature
of the designer's style; jackets with sharp, exaggerated shoulders, tiny
(lace) mini-dresses with bubble skirts and early 00s graphic tanks & tees, printed with sassy slogans
, combining the past with bold, contemporary details.
The collection is a strong statement against the 'clean girl' trend on TikTok, which pushes perfect glowing skin,
slicked-back hair, and the idea of effortless beauty that in reality, takes a
lot of work.
In a society that often values uniformity, Andraschko wants to celebrate
chaos, the wild, the messy; last night's mascara smeared across the face,
and the unapologetically crazy,
encouraging women to embrace their contradictions and have a little
fun.
