Always look at the men's departement and/or store!
As a compromise to last march Paris Fashionweek, which mostly took place digital, we visited some designer stores & showrooms to get an impression and glimpse of the new collections. At Rue de Richelieu you find the Maison Margiela Men- and Women store, just 50 meter apart from each other. We got attracked by the bags and shoes so hopped into the Men's first. The store design completes the brand's concept with it's clean aesthetics, the ideas of deconstruction and and the white elements. All Margiela's stores are designed to reflect the visual language of the brand, the heritage of Martin Margiela, as well as the current Creative Director; John Galliano.
Passing the white painted car tires by the entry door, you'll see that the store is divided in different small places. There is a special area for the fragrances as well as for shoes and the newest collection. One of the best thing is definetely the fitting room with all the black and white pictures of prisoners on the wall. Besides that we loved the display with all Margiela's books and gadgets he used during his years at the House and the pooltable in the middle of the room with the newest collection. Ofcourse the staff wears the well known white Margiela lab coats.
