Malaikaraiss Spring/Summer '23 Copenhagen Fashionweek

The first show we visited last August during Copenhagen Fashionweek, was Malaikaraiss. This Berlin based consious brand was estimated 10 years ago by designer, activist and creative director Malaika Raiss. Malaikaraiss stands for sophisticated and wearable feminin clothes. Malaika creates a contemporary modern garment, with clear silhouettes and sharp tailoring. Aiming to be completely sustainable, the designer uses innovative fabric developements and set goals every season to be more responsible.  Malakaraiss works together with mostly family-run businesses almost all based in Europe. which means fair wages.

The show took place in the heart of Copenhagen, in front of the Marmorkirken with tourists going in and out of the church, curiously watching the models. With a warm, beautiful late morning sun and the Marmorkirken on the back, the collection came alive while models walked the pavement. The fragile and minimalistic designs showed a powerful and easy-chic collection. It is all about lasting looks & styles, quality and a positive mindset at Malaikarais.
Our absolute top-look was the brown beige narrow rippled dress. Beautifully toned with the skin of the model, we could see how comfy the fabric layered on her body. We could easily wear this to a party but also to work, with a sneaker or combat boot. The white, some what glittering dress, with open back was one of our favourites as well. The length of the dress reminds us of 70's dresses but with an update, we say yay!  The suits also deserves a special mention, coming in white of bright blue, they looked timeless and a must for the everyday modern women.
