As we know the brand for a couple of years now, we were very happy visiting the showroom/presentation of Nanushka's Spring/Summer '23 collection during Paris Fashionweek. Nanushka is founded in 2006 by Sandra Sandor and Budapest based. The house is dedicated to caftmanship, details and responsible production, using traditional techniques.
This season Naunushka kept their presentation low-key due to the situation in Ukraine, which borders Hungary, where the label is based. There were only a few models showing the collection and changing garments as buyers and press were there. Main inspiration for this Spring/Summer collection was the Hungarian heritage, which came back into graphic motifs, hand-knitted jumpers and crochet crafted techniques, translated into Nanushka's world.
The use of vegan leather is where the brand is known for and for this collection the label designed long trenchcoats, oversized bikerjackets and pants. Combined with knitted cotton jumpers, printed genderless shirts and drawstring shorts or straight leg pants. The tailored fringed minidresses and silk ensemble also highlighted the artisanal imperfection the brand's niche.
A big part of the collection contained accessories like shoes, bags, jewellery and scarfs. The bags come in different shapes and volumes, mostly in easy-to-combine neutral colors, as well as the shoes. There were vegan leather sandals and slides, but also some more chic ones like open-heeled mules.
Our top and favourite looks were the black vegan leather dress with a small horizontal cut-out and double strap; timeless tailoring and wearable for different occasions. Another outstanding look was the silk cream white drawstring shorts with black graphic motif print and matching blouse. Underneath the model is wearing a matching bathing suit, wearable in different ways, looking smooth, cool and comfy.
