Dawei Spring/Summer '23 Paris Fashionweek

We had the pleasure attending the backstage area of Dawei Studio's Spring/Summer '23 collection. Presenting and showing at the Palais de Tokyo during Paris Fashionweek, Dawei proposes effortless, minimal and feminity all blending in together in an everyday vibe. With references from Paris Haute Couture in the 1920's "The magnificent Daily", as the collection is titled, streetwear and functionality is key. In addition to standard materials such as poplin, denim and silk, the designer also introduced a sustainable fabric partly made out of yarns from recycled Coke bottles.
The wide pleated sleeves, skirts and dresses, adresses the 1920's style where the body was given more freedom then before. The silhouettes are classical yet modern balancing between minimal and an easy chicness due to the extra light moving materials. Using a neutral color palette like beige, white, light green, yellow and blue combined with popping colors like orange, pink  and green the collection gained energy and playfullness, creating personality to the garment.

Our favourite looks were the blue oversized blouses tucked into beige oversized trousers and the white oversized blouse combined with light-blue trousers, worn by a male and female model. Finished of with a white sneaker it looks, edgy, sophisticated and soooo easy to wear. Another outstanding look we saw in the  the bright pink sheer dress, giving it feminity due to the sheer fabric. Maybe not for everyone to wear it without a bra, but not losing it's style and feminine touch when wearing a bralette or croptop underneath it.
Special mention to the striped and white blouses and trenchcoats and trench-skirts. Awesome tailoring, slightly oversized and draped in different functional ways, for the every day minimal life.
