Munthe Spring/Summer '23 Copenhagen Fashionweek

Okay, we are going to the recycling centre of Copenhagen.... For the Spring/Summer '23 collection show of Munthe!
That's what we thought receiving the invite but with beautiful summer wheather and an artful set, as the Sydhavn recycling centre turned out to be, we loved the message the CEO told us later; "We should even be more sustainable now then ever". As the brand aims to be responsible 64% of the collection meets the standard for Munthe 'The more responsible', which means that the items that have the Munthe 'The more responsible' label consists of more than 50% or more responsible fabric.
With a big internation crowd, Munthe showed a more slim silhoutte then Danish brands are known for but the diversity of the models felt greatly inclusive, even for Copenhagen.

- The starting point of the Spring Summer '23 collection is the Suprematism movement and the color-work of Kazimir Malevich. Around 1913, strongly influenced by avant-garde, a new art movement took place: Suprematism. It is paintings, which do not have a particular motive, instead, it is a composition of abstract colorful arrangements.
Emerald green, cornflower, powder blue, mushroom grey, and pure white added with a drop of vibrant orange and caramel show that the choice of the color palette is clearly a major milestone in this process. Inspired by the drenched, wildflower laden fields of Scandinavia and recreated in prints, this is for all the flower-loving souls. And somehow, these styles, featuring forest-strawberry-plants and tiny green leaves on a light background, manage to be both adoring and edgy at the same time. This Spring Summer '23 collection is also devoted to stripes, as a staple mainstay. A preferred print with a decade-long story as a substitute for “classic”. Breton, nautical, or pinstripes – there is a variation for everyone. Art is at the core of Munthe and collaborations with female artists is a reoccurrence each season. For the Spring Summer '23 collection, Munthe has teamed up with British artist Rosa Roberts. The London based artist has hand-made a special art print, that is used for a selection of exclusive silk styles. The dark green and crisp white colors of Roberts art, play well with the collection on its whole. -
From the brand

We saw a lot we thought be could easily fill up a sustainable capsule wardrobe, like the denim pieces;  straight cut, slightly tailored and coming in shorts as wel as long pants. Styled off with the tweed blazers you have some statement pieces to wear for years, feeling modern, chic and easy-going. We also loved the silk painted shirts. Wearable as a dress layered over your jeans (seeing it on the street on a lot of Danish women) or other pants, also coming in shorts and blouses.
We over-all loved the styling from the head scarfs combined with caps, to the socks in slides combined with shorts, to the fringed felt bags combined with teddy sneakers. Though our favourite look was the first pic, the cream swimsuit with cut-out, tucked in a straight-leg jeans combined with head scarf and cap.
We wanna be this all Spring long :)
