economic expansion that aligned with the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, which
ultimately transformed the imprint into a leading menswear brand in the
country. The label thrived in its native market for almost three decades
before expanding its catalog to global customers, thanks to COO Caroline
Kim, who led the brand’s movement into the worldwide market upon taking the
position in 2013. For Woo Young Mi, who became the first female designer in
Korea to make men’s ready-to-wear upon founding the label in 1988, the
collection is a testament to her pioneering efforts in masculine style.

Solid Homme's Fall-Winter '23-'24 is titled "Enter the void" and is inspired
by the graphics of Spanish Basque artist Eduardo Chillida, remixed with the
brand’s Bauhausian base. Central to Solid Homme's story is reprogramming
traditional nostalgia into fresh codes and reimagening vintage for the new
generation. The simultaneous privileging of both old en new and mixing
functionality with freely designed tailoring against a palette of winter
    landscapes, defines the collection.

    Collection notes:

Tops extend to mid-length in cardigans and outerwear, while baggy pants are
elevated through the curvature of the silhouette. Hallmarks of the preppy
wardrobe, such as letterman jackets, boat shoes, and varsity stripes,
feature heavily across the collection. Oversized bags, strapped and hung to
the back of ear-flapped caps, reinterpret the classic Y-back suspender. High
collars are exaggerated to cover models’ faces, while beanies are tucked at
the back or doubly layered for extra shaping, some punctuated by
Chillida-inspired motifs— geometric puzzle pieces that also appear in the
form of collegiate lettering, oversized zipper pendants, and bold earrings.
Vintage fabrics— bicolor and washed corduroy, moleskin, velvet, Casentino
wool, chenille, tweed, and homespun—create a nuanced textural ensemble,
matched by accessories cut from the same fabric. Balancing the collection
between earthy and icy are the collection key colors of Powder Blue, Lemon
Grass, Lime Light, Porcelain, and Rust Brown.

Our outstanding fits were the Chilida inspired graphic coats and earrings,
loose-fit giving it nonchalance but with personality due to the carefully
styled accessories. We also love the return of the long short for
Fall/Winter in our wardrobes; with climate change there are enough days to
wear, layer and style them. Solid Homme elevates the styling possibilities
with wannahave bags, hats and beanies that are all contemporary designed and
    timeless.
