This season the designer took inspiration out of his own Italian roots,
Italian high society and the architectural details of the Villa Farnese near
Rome. Blanc uses prints based on his own artworks which are applied as graphic
motifs making his creations even more personal and authentic. You could feel
the Italian sun bursting out of the prints and clothes. They immidiately
remind you of a nice and old Italian village, where the sun is burning, the
espresso is hot, the houses are colored, the people are charming and sensuel
and where the italian food is filling the air with delicious scents. The
designer explains that it's not only about his roots but also about his great
love for Italian Art and Architecture, which inspires him in his work.
Alexandre Blanc presented his collection around a set table as if all his
friends and family were going to join for a lovely italian meal.
The models were wearing oversized trenchcoats, loose silk skirts, silk
pajamas-like sets balloon sleeved vests and straight dresses and pants. The
form and tailoring of the clothes are femine and sensual and Blanc uses nice
fabrics like linnen, cotton and silk. Our absolute favourite was the long
trenchcoat with balloon sleeves. Also we loved the color palette Blanc uses
in addition with the simple italian aesthetic. All the looks were completed
with jewellery and eyewear by Goossens Paris. We loved all the big earrings,
shot on the back. and the glasses decorated with pearls.
Alexandre Blanc studied Fashion and Design at the Duperré School and
at the Institut Français de la Mode. He has spent nearly 10 years
working with the most infuential art directors of their generation,
such as Nicolas Ghesquière at Balenciaga and Guillaume Henry at
Carven. He has also acquired a strong expertise in Houses such as Yves
SaintLaurent in Paris, Jil Sander in Milan and Oscar de la Renta in
New York. In 2018, he founded his own House and has been attracting
attention ever since with his approach. The precision of his cuts, the
subtlety of the selected materials and the studied details make his
French-style wardrobe a singular proposition. Alexandre Blanc
conceives fashion as an applied art. His collections are accompanied
by a series of accessories inspired by a rich pictorial universe and
colourful design.
