'Get ready for diversity, to become biodiversity.
To listen when nature calls.
To let greed turn into empathy.
To listen to the next generation.'
An exhibition with changemakers by Dutch fashiondesigner Ronald van der
Kemp during Amsterdam Fashionweek bringing together a diversity of people
and disciplines. For this exhibition van der Kemp worked together with sustainable
entrepeneurs like i-did; a social entrepeneur making products out of
recycled felt, Sympany; a texile collector aiming to make the textile
business circular, students of De Haagse Hogeschool, creating a sustainable
future and EarthToday; on their mission to create more awareness about our
planet and trying to accelerate protecting our nature. The exhibition was openend by Syrian, refugee and dancer, Achmed Joudeh,
spreading his message "Dance or die" and bringing attention at the common
    mission of the changemakers.
For Ronald van der Kemp's 'Project Trashure' the designer brought these
different forces together to invent circular techniques to make something
beautiful out of all the textile left-overs and waste. Part of this project
contains artbags, animal masks, and graffiti-art on recycled
    felt.
What we saw were al lot of amazing masks and Art bags, exhibited together
in an industrial venue in the center of Amsterdam. The masks were combined
with the sustainable couture designs of different collections and seasons
pointing out that fashion definetely is Art, fashion can be sustainable, a
fashiondesigner doesn't need to create a new collection 6 times a year to be
relevant, bringing different dicsiplines together and creating new
techniques are a solution in creating more sustainable fashion and reduce
waste the industry is known for.Besides all that....the designs and details were so beautiful who doesn't
want to wear it or just have to look at it? Dutch fashiondesigner Ronald van
der Kemp is one of the first creating sustainable Haute Couture which not
only looks good but is also good for our planet.
