We always love visiting the Re-see's of the new Dior collection's
especially after a lockdown, and a whole digital fashion season, and when
brightfull as the this Spring Summer '22 collection is. The youthquake of the 60's is now seen as a re-awakening in fashion was Maria
Grazia Chiuri's biggest inspiration when she began designing the new Dior
collection.
Drawing inspiration from the house’s 1961 Slim Look collection by Marc
Bohan, Grazia Chiuri’s offering the same kind of colourful optimism which
the 60's are remembered for. Miniaturized Dior suits serve as an ode to
sophisticated style icons of the 60's, such as Jackie O, but with a modern
flair.Grazia Chiuri spoke of wanting to give an optimistic outlook to the future.
With this in mind, the show was set on a coloured circular
installation with models standing on different numbers, evoking images of a 60's style game show.
A part of the set was at the Re-see as well filled with bar jackets and
sleek suits in bright colors inspired by the Dior 1961 Slim Look
collection. Some of them were colour-blocked others came in bold colours with graphic
black prints of cats and reptiles. The looks were styled with a mini bag of
practically every handbag design Dior has (next up), coming in the whole vibrate
colour palette of the collection. All set up as "Dior Vibe" which logo came
back in the sporty boxing shorts and bralettes. Alongside the colour contrasts were the more classic suits in black and
white and warming neutral colours.
We absolutely loved the happy and somehow futuristic vibe the presentation was surrounded by and we were instantly attracted to the sporty outfits, the boxing shorts styled with the simple bralettes were our definete favourite. Likewise for the A-line dresses, particularly the white one with the long zipper (we could see Twiggy wearing it) because it is such an iconic and classic design making it more edgy by adding the zipper. Another favourite was the sheer white top with white silver sequins, we could imagine it styling with a good jeans.
