Hidden away on a little square of Rue du Saint Honoré, in the
luxury 8th arrondissement of Paris and next to the Comme des Garcons
store, you find Dover Street Little Market. It is the second location
designers Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe use for their multi-brand retail
concept Dover Street Market. Back in 2019 they opened their first store in
Paris dedicated to perfume and beauty at rue Elzévir, the new opened location is
dedicated to clothing.
The tiny space is creative with different affiches and graphic artworks
on the wall, mannequins and a bed in the middle of the store. Unique in
it's choice of upcoming brands and varied in it's choice of accessories,
bags, clothing and gadgets. Seven designers and emerging labels are showcasing in "The little
Market"; Californian label ERL, Russian skate brand Rassvet, Victor Weinsanto -
Paris, Honey Fucking Dijon - Berlin, Vaquera - New York and Singaporean
collective Youths in Balaclava. All of these brands are part of program
launched by Dover Street Market Paris in 2019, which supports them
according to their needs in sectors including production, business
development, and communications.
The store opened in february during last winter's semi-lockdown in Paris, while shops
were (still) open to visit. It is a really nice spot to go and find
yourself some unique pieces and see the inside of this tiny concept store. Good
excuse also for stopping by at the neighbours and buy yourself a nice Comme
des Garcons shirt.
