As always, Uma Wang showcased her Fall/Winter '24/'25 collection in the amazing American Cathedral in the heart of Paris. Uma Wang's designs are abstract in structure, fluid and open to interpretation, encouraging the wearer to explore playful originality within the framework of Wang’s singular vision and effortless elegance. She works with a refined yet earthy material palette; linen, lace, silk, and distressed knits in hues of taupe, moss, cream, ochre, black, and red. Classic silhouettes take on a relaxed, organic form, with oversized, deliberately bunched hems, and graceful draping.
The beige and red pillow dresses, accented with oversized collars, might sound unconventional in writing, but they were striking on the runway. The distressed knitwear was another standout, exuding effortless charm. We also loved the prints, especially on the moss green suit, an absolute showstopper, and on the coats, with the gold printed tweed-like cape being a particular favorite. Each piece blends avant-garde elements with utilitarian details and soft, natural femininity. The collection is a poetic tribute to classicism and naturalism, infused with a distinctly modern sensibility.
