Ouest Fall/Winter '25 Paris Fashionweek

Ouest draws inspiration from Americana and the designer turned to David Lynch in search of an answer to the question: What do you do when the American Dream disappears? Just a couple of days before Lynch died, the brand ordered red velvet curtains for their presentation, evoking the atmosphere of the Red Room from Twin Peaks. In a confined space, models, who looked as if they had just stepped out of Twin Peaks, stood like silhouettes against the backdrop of the show's haunting soundtrack.

Blending nostalgia with reinvention, Ouest delves deeper into masculinity and sensuality with a collection that embraces its signature obsessions; denim, leather, and underwear. Influences range by iconic cultural figures like Karlheinz Weinberger's gritty portraits and Stanley Stellar's evocative photography to the distinctive personal style of filmmaker Rainer Werner Fassbinder. With it's vintage aesthetics, the designs reflect the fragility and contradictions of an idealized past. Reshaped into modern silhouettes, the collection showcases light-washed jeans as full ensembles. Underwear inspired details subtly emerge beneath denim and leather, infusing the collection with a seductive undertone. It's not just about outerwear, it's about what lies beneath, challenging conventional ideas of strength by presenting vulnerability as equally powerful.
Merging 1970s aesthetics with early 00s denim culture, the collection seamlessly balances nostalgia and modernity. Surf suit-inspired cuts (seen also at the brand's Spring/Summer '25 collection) create unexpected silhouettes, while regenerated black leather adds richness and texture, enhancing the collection's sensual appeal.

We loved how the set was designed, it felt like stepping into Twin Peaks, ordering a coffee at the café, waiting for Agent Cooper to arrive. The genderfluid essence of the collection stood out, especially in the way the brand transformed feminine bodysuits into low-cut men's bodysuits, one of our favorite designs. The full denim looks, paired with sleek vintage glasses and wrist sleeves, were another highlight. Overall, the styling was a standout, elevating both the collection and its concept.
