A.W.A.K.E. Mode Fall/Winter '23 Paris Fashionweek

A.W.A.K.E. Mode presented their Fall/Winter 23/24 collection at Palais de Tokyio in Paris last march during Paris Fashionweek. Unfortunately there was a major public transport strike in Paris that day and a lot of guests were either too late, or not able to come because of the crazy traffic due to the strike. We felt really sorry for the brand because their collection deserved way more public and attention, as it was also showing at the last day of Paris Fashionweek.
A.W.A.K.E. Mode is recognisable for their innovative cut's, panelled maxi-skirts, unexpected cut-outs, amazing shoes and bags and sharp tailoring. This also caught the attention of retailer Another Stories as they worked together creating an exclusive collaboration last year.
Natalia Alaverdian, founder and designer of the brand, continued her niche successfully for the Fall/Winter collection, creating an avant-garde and wearable wardrobe influenced by the sounds of Vangelis and the 1982 Ridley Scott movie 'Blade Runner'.
The London based brand kept her spot as a favourite in the fashionscene, by showing oversized cargo trousers from teddy fabric and other fabrics, extra wide denim pants, panelled maxi-skirts with upcycled denim patches, faux-fur turning into bags, shoes and skirts, sleek tailored coats coming in neutral tones as well as in bright colors and sophisticated details like stitched metal balls on denim, metal heels on some shoes and boots and the metal handles of the bags. They were all designed with a subtle cross-cultural touch, and historical references from art and film, coming together in a versatile and comfortable wardrobe.
Our outstanding looks were the oversized cargopants, as we continu the 00's trend, this is one of the best designs seen. Another favourite we found in the brown laque loose-fit draped dress styled with a matching bag and brown fluffy boots. This dress is cut so amazing to precision and looking intriguingly unconventional (also the hairstyle?) which would go great on New Years Eve. More timeless, but beautiful sewed and classic, the cropped oversized dark-brown soft leather blazer worn over a blue/grey maxi shirtdress, caught our attention as well.
Shoutout to the hairstylist and hairdresser, we were obsessed with the updo of the curly bangs and the long bangs covering the models eyes.
