Sehnsucht Atelier showcased their Fall/Winter collection at
Paris Fashion Week, featuring drinks, a presentation of the
collection, and a live performance by the band Skemer.
Skemer is a band with singer Kim Peers, who is also a
topmodel and DJ, and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove, known
for his work with Amenra and his solo project Syndrome.
These two very different worlds came together, resulting in
minimalist dark wave compositions that are both raw and
sensual.
Sehnsucht Atelier collection; Capitolo VI "Healing wounds",
creates a world filled with poetic nostalgia, drawing
inspiration from mystical and powerful beings of an ancient
past. The brand aims to explore the mysteries deep within
us, translating this journey into designs that are both
elegant and sensual, yet intense and bold. Made entirely in
Italy, 95% of the fabrics used are organic and certified
eco-friendly by GOTS. The creative process centers on
introducing organic beauty into chaos, forging new codes
through the fusion of diverse aesthetics. Punk, Fetish,
Victorian, and Romantic influences converge into fluid,
sinuous silhouettes, accentuated by black lace and leather.
This interplay of contrasts is mirrored in the material
choices, blending refined fabrics with raw, untamed details.
Kim Peers owned the black lace maxi dress she wore during
her performance with the band, seamlessly blending the
music's ambiance with the brand and collection's aesthetic.
One standout piece was the lacquer-like leather maxi skirt
paired with a simple cropped white blouse, an effortlessly
chic look perfect for Christmas or any holiday event.
Another favorite was the off-white tailored coat with a
fitted waist, featuring classic Victorian-inspired details
and bows that beautifully accentuated the hips.
About the brand
Sehnsucht Atelier is born out of a deep fall into
self-introspection. The creatures of Sehnsucht Atelier find
themselves into an atemporal dimension embracing the demons
that contribute to shape our most authentic and spiritual
self through a contemplative odyssey towards
self-acceptance. >By finally embracing the demons
contributing to shape our most authentic and spiritual self,
Sehnsucht tells the story of a long and contemplative
odyssey towards self acceptance. Schizophrenic and
fragmented, Senhsucht's creatures recognize themselves as
sensual, mysterious and yet severe. They are dark and yet
romantic, steampunk but nostalgic. They live into an
atemporal dimension, out of space and time, in the land of
non-belonging still uncorrupted by the dynamics of today's
society.
