After their launch in 2014, and on our to-go-to list, Hyke showcased their Fall/Winter '25 collection at Tokyo's Ariake Arena during Tokyo Fashionweek. With a five years abscence from the runway, the brand turned the former volleyball venue of the 2020 Summer Olympics into a catwalk. Staying true to its minimalist Japanese roots, the brand seamlessly fused outdoor utility with functional fashion, all underscored by a vintage-inspired aesthetic.
The fabric selection was central to the collection, with the brand exploring a diverse range, from sturdy canvas to flowing silk, creating textural contrasts. This interplay brought depth and a perfect balance of form and function, proving that utility and beauty not only coexist, but do so with effortless cool. The collections color palette showed earthy tones, with olive green, khaki, and terracotta leading the way. In some designs these hues were interrupted by bright pops of color, accented further by monochromatic checkered patterns that added a subtle visual interest.
The show marked Hykes fourth collaboration with The North Face, further solidifying its dedication to high functional fashion. The collaboration featured branded tees, puffer vests, and oversized mountain jackets, paired seamlessly with pleated skirts and sheer pants & balloon sleeve tops. This season there was an introduction of the Vectiv Pro 3 sneaker, The North Face’s most advanced trail runner, featuring bold, chunky soles, giving the outfits a contemporary feel. Knit caps, scarves, and eyewear from the brand's collaboration with E5 Eyevan, completed the sporty vibe. The Fall/Winter '25 presentation also unveiled a new partnerships with Porter and Beautiful Shoes, adding more stylish touches from longtime fashion collaborators of the Japanese brand.
The standout pieces included dungarees crafted from plaid fabrics in turquoise and brown, alongside oversized plaid trench coats. Another favorite look was the black fishnet A-line skirt paired with a TNF windbreaker and chunky trail shoes; where streetstyle meets techwear meets fashion. We also loved the brown fluffy wide pants with a high slit, layered with sheer fabric, an unexpected, playful detail that we liked. Overall, the styling, layering, and blend of long and cropped silhouettes were strongly executed. This is what the brand is known for and loved, both inside Japan and beyond.
